It’s been a funny one. After my Epic Ride up the Dales I felt rather poorly which impacted in the old monthly mileage totals!
But this last week I have been trying to get back into Zwift as the weather (mainly wind) is turning and the dark nights have returned with the clocks going back.
It’s pretty exciting on Zwift now with the introduction of the WTRL Zwift Racing League. I’m racing in Cat B, a higher level that I’m used to, and it’s really tough.
Being a former Cat D rider and being used to finishing in the top 3 in most races I entered it is a shock to be finishing in the last 20% of riders now. So far I’ve had a 85th and a 93rd place! But as I race my FTP has increased three times and it now stands at 299.
On 31st October Boris Johnson announced that we are going into another lockdown so from the 5th November we can only cycle with one other person from another household. One good thing about the lockdown is there is nothing (apart from weather) stopping me cycle whenever I want!
So, targets:
- Mileage – 4,000 needs to be hit in November
- Weight – I’m 16 stone 5 lbs – I want to get into the 15 range
- Drink – The odd can at home now I suppose
Hopefully November will be a good one and I can get close to 500 miles in preparation for the R***a Festive 500.
